Students need to earn 100 points during World Language Week.  Students must determine how they are going to earn the 100 points.  They may participate in activities during school, after school and at home.  10 points possible for extra credit

Please Keep in mind, February is notorious for Snow days.  Students should plan for individual activities in case the workshop he/she signed up for gets cancelled due to a Snow Day

After School Activities

Each workshop afterschool is worth 20 points.
If a student arrives late, leaves early or does not attend, the student will be deducted ALL of the points that could have been earned.

All activities must be signed up in advance with a permission slip on file.

Individual Assignments

These assignments are each worth 10 points unless discussed differently with your teacher.

Presentations to the class via Powerpoint or other visual aids
  • International Food with information and sampling
  • Detailed presentation on a specific culture
  • Detailed presentation on famous person of another culture-may be in science/literature etc
  • Musician with background and samples
  • Artist with background and samples
  • Lyrics of a song, the song sample and your interpretation 
  • Memorize/Recite a Poem in target language

          German
  • Create and Recite original WLW Poem.  It may be done in English or the Target Language.  The theme should be Footprints...Leave an Impression.
  • Learn a song in another language and sing/play it for the class

OTHER Individual Assignments
  • Make a dessert to be served at the student showcase-must be pre-approved with teacher- 3x5 notecard with information-click here
  • Take the Photo Challenge
  • Use the book "1001 Things to do Before I die" (in the library) and complete the task
  • Create a children's book with at least 15 original illustrations using vocabulary that has not yet been covered in one of your classes
